Mission of JSC NC KazMunayGas is providing the Republic of Kazakhstan with maximum benefits of participation in development of oil and gas industry.

Strategic directions and goals are defined in Development Strategy of JSC NC KazMunayGas” and include:

The strategic goals shall be achieved due to fulfillment of the activities provided in Summary Plan of Strategic Initiatives (Strategic Development Plan) of JSC NC KazMunayGas for 2006-2010 and implementation of Strategic Development Directions for JSC NC KazMunayGas covering 5 years (2007-2011).

Program of Assets Restructuring

The actual stage of development of oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan gives the company new tasks which solution shall provide achievement of strategic goals and stable economic development of the company in the future.

The goal of the Program of Assets Restructuring – creation of effective and transparent assets structure.

The program provides decrease of total number of subsidiary and dependent organizations involved in core auxiliary and additional activities.

Principles of Company’s assets restructuring:

  • retention of significant assets and focusing the efforts on main activities
  • leaving the core assets with low commercial potential
  • leaving the board of participants/shareholders of core auxiliary assets
  • leaving the board of participants/shareholders of non-core assets

Core activity includes:

  • development and production
  • operation of oil and gas field infrastructure
  • refining
  • transportation and operation of oil-and-gas pipelines
  • implementation and marketing, research and development (R&D) in the sphere of oil and gas
  • geological-geophysical researches
  • design and construction of oil&gas pipelines and petroleum field infrastructure
  • drilling

Target structure of Company’s assets:

  • Development and production of hydrocarbons
  • Marketing and sales
  • Transportation of oil and gas
  • Service – includes core-auxiliary and non-core sectors


Implementation of the Program of assets restructuring will provide receiving of profit from realization of participation shares and share holdings of subsidiary and associated organizations, enable to reduce administrative expenses on control and monitoring of existing assets, give additional opportunities and resources for development of perspective projects.
